Report: Nic Claxton should return in 1-2 weeks

Nic Claxton hasn’t been out as long as Kyrie Irving or Caris LeVert, but it’s been a while since the rookie took the floor for the Nets.

Much like Caris LeVert (right thumb surgery) and Kyrie Irving (right shoulder impingement), the Brooklyn Nets have not established a timetable for Nic Claxton’s return publicly.

The rookie has been sidelined due to left hamstring soreness, which he suffered back on December 9 while on assignment with the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s G League affiliate.

Hamstrings can be tricky, but a month is still a lengthy layoff for soreness — especially with no timetable attached to the injury.

Though it appears Alex Schiffer of The Athletic has been given an estimated timetable for Claxton’s return to game action. On Monday, Schiffer reported the following:

As for Nic Claxton, a source tells me his hamstring soreness isn’t serious. Just something that’s been lingering for a while and the Nets want to get back to 100 percent because there’s no urgency for him to get back. He should be back in a week or two I’m told.
