The saying is “new normal.” There is nothing normal about what is going on in the world and sports currently.
The COVID-19 pandemic has turned things upside down and in every direction, but healthy. And now comes a report NFL players won’t be exempt from staying and playing it safe.
Per source familiar with the discussion, some players are unhappy with proposed face shields they would wear to play, practice, work out, etc. Concern about their effect on vision and breathing while playing.

And the big question that will only get stronger as the days continue.
Sources said there is definitely some sentiment among players of, "Why are we playing at all if it's this unsafe?" A ton of questions still have to be answered before they feel good about playing. There's another NFLPA call scheduled for Friday for all players, not just reps.

Meanwhile. Panthers quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is ready to play and it doesn’t sound like anything will stop him.
