The NFL is still planning to hold the 2020 NFL draft from April 23-25 but the format of the draft is going to look very different according to a report from LA Time writer Sam Farmer. Farmer says the NFL is going to stage the draft in a TV studio with each team set up in their own headquarters and we will watch all the “action” in that way.

The other aspect of this has to do with the prospects. It’s likely players will be at home and there will be small camera crews sent there to monitor their response but even players will no be able to have the huge gatherings with friends and family we’ve seen in the past.

Once compromises are made, this product probably won’t have the wow factor of drafts past. Nevertheless, it is the right decision to make and will be applauded not for production value but for being responsible and respecting the situation we are in.
