Report: New Orleans Saints’ owner Gayle Benson tests positive for COVID-19

Saints owner Gayle Benson is battling COVID-19.

New Orleans Saints owner Gayle Benson has tested positive for COVID-19, it was reported Friday.

Per Nola.com:

Benson, 73, is “under daily medical care, and she continues to feel better each day,” said Greg Bensel, the vice president of communications for both the Saints and Pelicans.

Bensel stopped short of detailing what Benson’s symptoms are but said she had not been hospitalized despite the illness and was “doing very well in her recovery” at her home in New Orleans.

“She’s been participating in daily executive calls as well as NFL and NBA owner calls,” Bensel added. “She’s been active.”

The Saints’ coach, Sean Payton tested positive for coronavirus early in the pandemic and recovered.

In a statement, Benson said she thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
