It seems like a decision has been made concerning DeAndre Jordan’s future. The Athletic reported on Monday that it is indeed true that Jordan and the Nets are working on a buyout agreement. Although rumors have been stirring up for the past weeks on the veteran big man getting traded instead, none of this has come into fruition. Perhaps the rumors, but no offer was good enough for Brooklyn to accept.
Removing Jordan from the roster would open up a spot on the team, and to no surprise, this is something the Nets would want at this time. Recently, Brooklyn has shown interest in Cavaliers youngster Isaiah Hartenstein. There have also been rumors of the team pursuing former All-Star Paul Millsap.
Although DJ has $20M left on his contract, he may end up settling with a buyout. As of right now, he won’t have the role he would want in Brooklyn. That’s something another team would give him, like the Los Angeles Lakers. It’s a harsh truth, but the Nets have been hinting at this for quite some time.
