They have each been limited on the New Orleans Saints injury report throughout the week, but ESPN’s Dianna Russini reports that quarterback Drew Brees (right shoulder) and wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle/hamstring) are expected to suit up for Sunday night’s pivotal game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Thomas has not dressed for a game since suffering a high-ankle sprain back in Week 1, coincidentally against this same Buccaneers team; a one-game benching after a fight in practice and hamstring injury set him back longer than anticipated. As for Brees, he took on a lighter workload this week after recently injuring his throwing shoulder, though he’s played mum on the specifics of his troubles.

When asked whether either of his superstars would be suiting up on Sunday, Saints coach Sean Payton continued to play coy, telling Nola.com’s Luke Johnson: “We’ll see. I thought we had a good week of preparation. And we’ll wait ’til gameday.”

The final Saints injury report will be released Friday afternoon, with game status denotations for relevant players. But from the sounds of it, the Saints offense could be set to return to full strength with Brees, Thomas, running back Alvin Kamara, and wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Marquez Callaway all together again.
