Report: Mavericks interested in pursuing Spencer Dinwiddie

If the Brooklyn Nets are looking to move on from Spencer Dinwiddie, it seems more than a few teams are interested in his services.

When a report indicating multiple Western Conference contenders “expressed interest internally” in Spencer Dinwiddie on Monday, the Brooklyn Nets guard had one question on his mind — the same one everyone else did.

Who?

While the Los Angeles Lakers, Dinwiddie’s favorite team as a kid growing up in southern California, seemed like a possibility given they’d reportedly inquired about the guard’s availability around the 2020 NBA Trade Deadline, they were not the first team linked to Dinwiddie.

That honor, instead, belongs to the Dallas Mavericks, who are considering Dinwiddie, Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo and New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday as they look to bolster their roster, according to Matt Moore of The Action Network.

The Mavericks finished seventh in the Western Conference in 2019-20 with a 43-32 record. They lost 4-2 in the first round to the Los Angeles Clippers.
