Almost any team in the league would probably like to have retired linebacker Luke Kuechly aboard as a coach.
But only one team might have a serious shot at it.
That — understandably — is the Carolina Panthers, per Adam Schefter at ESPN:
“Kuechly is interested in having a role with the Panthers, a league source told ESPN, whether it’s as an adviser, coach, executive or another job that could help the team.”
It’s a fun idea to think Kuechly might have an interest in coaching under Ron Rivera himself given the connection there. He’d get to help oversee a unit headlined by Reuben Foster and Ryan Kerrigan, as well as helping groom players like Cole Holcomb.
We’ve touched on the idea in the past, but it sounds like for now, if the potential Hall of Famer is going to start his career anywhere, it will be in Carolina.
