Report: Kendre Miller ‘expected to miss a week or two’ with knee injury

NOF’s Nick Underhill reports Kendre Miller is ‘expected to miss a week or two’ with his preseason knee injury, but he should be ready for the regular season:

This is good news: imaging on New Orleans Saints rookie running back Kendre Miller’s injured knee revealed only minor damage, as first reported by NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill. There’s a chance Miller could participate in the team’s final preseason game in two weeks, but odds are they’ll want to keep him fresh with Alvin Kamara suspended during their first three regular season matchups.

It’s a relief to learn this won’t be a long-term issue for Miller. He won’t need surgery, and he won’t miss much time (if any) when wins and losses begin to count in September. The third-round draft pick arrived with a lot of fanfare and only built more momentum after talking himself up in the offseason, which his veteran teammate Kamara embraced. Hopefully he can rest up and make some plays once he’s running behind the starting offensive line rather than backups and reserves.
