Report: Kayli Johnson set to join Rutgers football

Rutgers football appears to have hired Kayli Johnson for a recruiting position.

Kayli Johnson is joining the Rutgers football in what is a pivotal role for the program’s continued rebuilding efforts.

On Thursday, Football Scoop reported that Johnson is joining Rutgers as the assistant director of recruiting operations. The report notes that Johnson is a graduate of Michigan State and has spent time in college football with Texas Tech (where she received her masters in sports management) and last year with the Detroit Lions.

With the Lions, she was an operations intern.

With Michigan State, he was a member of the track and field program. See competed in the shot put and discus among other field events.

As a senior, Johnson was the recipient of the prestigious Diversity and Leadership Award.

She earned the honor for showing “a commitment to the delivery of diversity and leadership programming within the Department of Athletics and campus community.”

Johnson is not yet listed on the staff directory for Rutgers football.

Shamir Hill is listed on the staff page as the assistant director of recruiting for the Rutgers football program. In what might be a corrseponding move within the football program’s staff, his Twitter bio now reads that he is the director of high school personnel.
