Report: Julian Edelman has vandalism charges dropped

Julian Edelman will not be charged for vandalizing a car in Los Angeles, according to a report by TMZ.

Julian Edelman will not be charged for vandalizing a Mercedes Benz in January, according to a report by TMZ.

The New England Patriots wide receiver was arrested on Jan. 11 in Beverly Hills, CA for jumping on the hood of the car. He was set to appear in court on Monday, but the driver said he “has been fully compensated for the repair costs to the vehicle”, according to the report.

The incident happened one week after the Patriots lost their wild-card playoff game to the Tennessee Titans. Edelman was with former Patriot Danny Amendola and former Boston Celtic Paul Pierce on the night of the incident.

New England made the AFC Championship game the previous eight seasons,  keeping Edelman busy throughout January. He was a fundamental part of the Patriots’ offense in 2019, but sustained numerous injuries and became less productive toward playoff time.

Although Edelman avoided any legal charges, he could still face discipline from the NFL.
