The long and winding road of Josh Gordon’s NFL career could be back on again if the wideout’s request for reinstatement is given an okay.
The wide receiver submitted a letter seeking to be allowed back into the league.
Free-agent WR Josh Gordon submitted his letter applying for reinstatement Wednesday, source said.
Still only 29, Gordon has been in Seattle, running routes and preparing for his return. The hope is to get his indefinite suspension lifted in time for training camp.

Gordon is currently serving an indefinite suspension after violating the league’s policies of substance abuse and performance-enhancing drugs. Gordon was suspended for the entire 2015 and 2016 seasons. His latest ban came down late in the 2019 season, five games into his tenure with the Seahawks. Seattle acquired Gordon via waivers on Nov. 1 after the receiver was waived by the Patriots.
Gordon has played 63 games since he was chosen by the Browns in the 2012 supplemental draft. Overall, he has caught 247 passes for 4,252 yards — an average of 17.2 yards per catch — and 20 touchdowns.
