We now know a little more about the mysterious absence of Joe Mixon at Cincinnati Bengals training camp this week.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the star running back has been dealing with migraines.
Mixon had missed a practice earlier this week but was spotted on the sideline before outright being absent entirely on Wednesday. That caused plenty of speculation considering he and the Bengals continue to work on contract extension talks.
Bengals coaches had previously described Mixon’s absence as a “minor injury,” which turns out to mostly be the case if this report holds firm.
Either way, any Mixon absence was going to go under a microscope given the ongoing talks between his reps and the team.
