Joe Harris has expressed on multiple occasions he wants to remain a member of the Brooklyn Nets organization.
Nets general manager Sean Marks has made clear re-signing the unrestricted free agent sharpshooter is his top priority this offseason — although, everything going on with James Harden could easily make this priority No. 2.
But mutual interest between the two groups doesn’t mean other NBA teams aren’t interested in Harris. Throughout the entire 2019-20 season, it was known the Nets sharpshooter was due for a big payday, following up his a 2018-19 season in which he led the league in 3-point percentage (47.4%) by shooting 42.4% from deep.
Right now, Ian Begley of SNY is reporting Harris is due to make $16-20 million a year in his next deal — and there appear to be other teams willing to meet him in that range.
Both the Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Hornets are interested in signing Harris, according to Begley. Still, Harris is expected to re-sign with the Nets.
