Report: Jim Harbaugh staying at Michigan

Jim Harbaugh will be staying on as head coach of the Michigan Wolverines

The Jim Harbaugh Watch is over, per 247 Sports. The Michigan coach will be staying with the Wolverines. The extension will run through the 2025 college football season.

The Michigan Insider’s Sam Webb was able to confirm the news with Harbaugh Friday afternoon. The deal is believed to be a five-year, $20 million extension that includes incentives that could bring his salary back up to $8 million per year, though official contract details have not been announced.

Over the course of six years, Jim Harbaugh has compiled a 49-22 record as Michigan’s head coach, ranking the Wolverines among the top 15 nationally over that stretch. He led Michigan to three top-15 finishes in the AP Poll, something the Wolverines had only done once from 2007-14.
