People in and around the city of Ann Arbor have long been waiting to hear the news that Jim Harbaugh has officially signed a contract extension. However, that won’t happen until the mess with the NCAA is settled.
It was revealed in January that the NCAA was investigating the Michigan football head coach for what has now been reported as a violation stemming from improperly dining with a commitment (who was unsigned) during a dead period — a very, very serious infraction, indeed.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger, the two sides are working on a four-game suspension for Harbaugh to begin the 2023 season.
Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and the NCAA are working toward a negotiated resolution that is expected to see him suspended four games this season in penalties stemming from alleged false statements he originally made to investigators, sources tell Yahoo Sports.
The agreement is an initial version of the negotiated resolution and is not yet finalized. The resolution must now be approved by the NCAA Committee on Infractions, which could take several days if not weeks.
The first four games of the 2023 season for the Michigan Wolverines are all at home: East Carolina, UNLV, Bowling Green, and Rutgers.
