According to a new report, the New York Jets believe that they will sign former Tennessee Titans cornerback, Logan Ryan, to a one-year deal.
The news comes from Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
The Jets think that they’re on the precipice of adding a valuable defensive piece.
Gang Green believes that it will land former Patriots and Titans defensive back Logan Ryan on a one-year deal, according to sources.
Ryan spent the past three seasons with the Titans after signing a three-year, $30 million deal in 2017. He had his best season in Nashville in 2019 after posting a team-high 113 combined tackles to go along with four picks, 4.5 sacks and 18 passes defensed.
Just last week, Ryan took to social media to announce that he wouldn’t be returning to the Titans.
In a recent interview on the “Double Coverage Podcast” with Jason and Devin McCourty, Ryan admitted that the Titans didn’t try to bring him back in free agency, and even after he offered to come back on a one-year deal at his 2019 salary.
Ryan would bring a much-needed veteran presence and leadership to the Jets’ locker room if they do indeed sign him. It would also be a homecoming for the veteran, as he is from New Jersey and played his college ball at Rutgers.
