Panthers CB Jaycee Horn will undergo a procedure on his injured hamstring, per league sources with knowledge of the situation.
Timeline TBD, but it’s not believed to be season-ending.— Joe Person (@josephperson) September 15, 2023
Horn left before halftime of this past Sunday’s 24-10 season-opening loss to the Atlanta Falcons. When speaking about the latest setback for his starting corner on Wednesday, head coach Frank Reich didn’t shoot down the possibility of surgery.
“It’s just one of those freak things,” he said. “It’s just one of those freak injuries. You just never know. You just never know. And he knew right away. I could tell as soon as I got out there. He kinda felt it pop.”
The 23-year-old has already been under the knife multiple times during his NFL career. He sustained a broken foot in the third game of his rookie season and would then see his sophomore campaign cut short due to a broken wrist.
Horn has played in 18 of a possible 34 games for the Panthers since being selected with the eighth overall pick of the 2021 draft.
