Report: Jaguars to hire Press Taylor as offensive coordinator

The Jaguars are expected to hire Colts assistant coach Press Taylor as offensive coordinator.

Indianapolis Colts senior offensive assistant Press Taylor is expected to be hired as the new offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

This should come as no surprise as Taylor was viewed as the favorite to be a part of the new coaching staff under Doug Pederson in Jacksonville, replacing Urban Meyer.

Taylor spent one season with the Colts after they acquired quarterback Carson Wentz via trade last offseason.

He was the offensive quality control coach for three seasons (2013-2015) before Pederson got to Philly. Taylor then added assistant quarterbacks coach to his duties for two seasons (2016-2017) when Pederson arrived.

He was then promoted to quarterbacks coach for two seasons (2018-2019) and then became the passing game coordinator along with being the quarterbacks coach for the 2020 season.

The Colts have had several assistants leave for new jobs across the league, mostly on the defensive side of the ball. Now, they will need to find a replacement for the senior offensive assistant—should they decide to keep that role.
