The Washington Redskins get their shot at free-agent tight end Greg Olsen early this week before the veteran makes his decision about continuing to play in the NFL.
The report comes from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, who notes Olsen will visit the Redskins and then meet up with the Seattle Seahawks.
Olsen has had plenty of suitors since he and the Carolina Panthers parted ways, but the Redskins have always seemed to make the most sense.
Not only do the Redskins have a serious problem at the position — especially after Vernon Davis retired — but also thanks to Olsen’s prior connection with Rivera on the Panthers.
Olsen, 34, has made it clear he wants to keep playing even though it appears he has a broadcasting career lined up (he was in an XFL booth over the weekend). He spent 2011-19 with the Panthers.
