Report: Georgia to play at Texas in 2024

It looks like Georgia will have a much more difficult 2024 schedule

The Georgia Bulldogs are reportedly set to play at the Texas Longhorns in 2024. Texas, which will be making its debut in the SEC next season, could be starting quarterback Arch Manning by then.

The Longhorns and Bulldogs memorably faced off in the 2019 Sugar Bowl. On that day, Texas’ mascot, Bevo, made a lunge at Uga. Texas defeated Georgia, 28-21. Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger declared “we’re back” after defeating Georgia.

Since Ehlinger’s declaration, the Longhorns have not won more than eight games in a season. TCU is 3-1 against Texas since 2019. Georgia has won two national titles since.

Texas holds a 4-1 all-time series edge over Georgia. The Bulldogs traveled to Austin, Texas, in 1958. Texas has never played at Georgia.

Texas represents a new potential contender in the SEC. The Longhorns play in a state with a lot of talent. Texas’ additional TV money coming in from playing in the SEC could help the Longhorns take their program to another level.

Georgia is also expected to travel to Alabama during the 2024 SEC schedule.

Each SEC team will have its opponents announced for the 2024 season on June 14 in a special prime-time show on the SEC Network.
