Auburn football hosts Arkansas for its SEC opener on Saturday, and a highly-targeted recruit could be in the stands to see the action.
According to a report from Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live, four-star quarterback and Notre Dame pledge [autotag]Deuce Knight[/autotag] is expected to visit Auburn on Saturday for the Tigers’ SEC opener. If Knight does arrive for the visit, it will mark his third visit to the Plains in four weeks.
Prior to Knight’s visit to Auburn for the California game, Steve Wiltfong of On3 said that Knight has developed a strong relationship with director of recruiting Kenyatta Watson as well as head coach Hugh Freeze, which has led to a strong interest in Auburn.
Earlier this week, Wiltfong also said that there is a possibility that Knight could choose to take his official Auburn for the Oklahoma game at the end of September instead of going to South Bend for the Fighting Irish’s game vs. Louisville. Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live says that Notre Dame could get that visit instead.
This weekend will be crucial for Auburn in its pursuit of Knight. If this weekend’s visit goes well, Knight could spurn the Irish next weekend, which will get Auburn one step closer to flipping the nation’s No. 6 quarterback for the 2025 class.
