With the departure of Urban Meyer from Fox Sports to the Jacksonville Jaguars, it left a vacancy on the Fox Sports Big Noon Kickoff show. Reportedly the network is replacing one Ohio native with another. According to Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, former National Championship winning coach Bob Stoops is set to be his replacement.

After losing a National Championship-winning coach to the NFL, Fox Sports is adding another National Champion, The Post has learned.

Stoops coached the Oklahoma Sooners from 1999-2016 before handing over the reigns to Lincoln Riley. During his time in Norman, Stoops led the Sooners to one National Championship, another three appearances in the BCS Championship game, and 10 Big 12 Championships during his 18 years as head coach.

Following a brief hiatus the legendary Sooners coach resurfaced as the head coach of the Dallas Renegades of the XFL, that stint lasted just five games before they closed their doors on the 2020 season. The mult-time coach of the year was selected to the College Football Hall of Fame and can now add studio analyst to his resume.

Sooners fans will get to see their familiar coach on Saturday’s once again, just in a different fashion.
