Report: Former Atlanta Hawks guard Brandon Goodwin worked out with Boston last week

While no camp deal has been tendered, there is reportedly mutual interest between Boston and Goodwin.

The Boston Celtics reportedly worked out with former Atlanta Hawks guard Brandon Goodwin last week per reporting from Forbes Sports’ Chris Grenham. The 6-foot-0 guard does not yet have a training camp deal with the Celtics, but “there is interest from both sides” per Grenham.

The 25-year-old guard has struggled a bit at the NBA level in terms of efficiency as a career 38.1% shoot overall and 31.1% from deep with the Hawks and Denver Nuggets. But, the Florida Gulf Coast product is eligible to take the remaining two way spot Boston still has open, perhaps giving him an edge over some candidates to join Boston’s final 2021-22 roster.

Goodwin logged 4.9 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2 assists per game with Atlanta in 2020-21.
