After the Rams released running back Todd Gurley on Thursday, the Falcons will reportedly sign him to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport:
Todd Gurley has already landed home: The former #Rams star is signing a 1-year deal with the #Falcons, source says (as @Schultz_Report reported). Atlanta had some talks with the #Rams about trading for the former UGA RB before he was released.

The Rams released Gurley after trying to trade him in order to avoid paying his $10.5 million signing bonus. A three-time Pro Bowler, Gurley has rushed for 5,404 yards and 58 touchdowns in five seasons. He struggled along with the entire Rams offense last season, averaging just 3.8 yards per carry.
The Falcons, who just released starting running back Devonta Freeman earlier this week, were reportedly one of the teams most interested in acquiring him via a trade.
The mutual interest between Atlanta and Gurley — a former University of Georgia star — made it a perfect fit. Now the Falcons have a backfield with Gurley, Ito Smith and Qadree Ollison.
