Report: Ex-Colts GM Ryan Grigson joins Browns as consultant

Ryan Grigson finds another gig.

Former Indianapolis Colts general manager Ryan Grigson is reportedly joining the Cleveland Browns in a consultant and advisory role, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

After Grigson was fired from the Colts following the 2016 season, he hasn’t been around the NFL much. He did join the Browns in 2017 as a senior personnel executive and then also joined the Seattle Seahawks in 2018 as a senior football consultant.

There is a connection in Cleveland now that Andrew Berry has taken over the reins as general manager of the Browns. Berry was with the Colts for seven seasons in various scouting roles.

He was a scouting assistant for two seasons (2009–2010) and a pro scout for one season (2011). When Grigson took over in 2012, Berry was promoted to be the Colts’ pro scout coordinator. Berry joined the Browns front office in 2016.

It isn’t clear what specific role Grigson will be working in, but he will have plenty of personalities to work with in Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham Jr. alone.
