The Eagles will be without Avonte Maddox indefinitely, and with Philadelphia set to face the talented Buccaneers on Monday night, an All-Pro could be switching positions.
Jordan Schultz reports that defensive coordinator Sean Desai will move James Bradberry inside to the slot/nickel cornerback spot.
Bradberry going to nickel is an extremely team-first move by him. He’s an all-pro outside CB. He doesn’t have to move inside. Only doing it for the team. #Eagles https://t.co/eeGjcstm0Q

Bradberry spent time cross-training in the slot during training camp, and his physicality could allow Desai to feature the cornerback in the STAR role that Jalen Ramsey has made famous.
Bradberry can now match up confidently with opposing wide receivers who are getting moved around or athletic All-Pro tight ends who can flex into space.
The Eagles still have Mario Goodrich and Justin Evans if the team needs to have Bradberry on a pitch count inside and give the retooled defense valued flexibility and versatility as we advance.
