If Tom Brady wants to play elsewhere in 2023, it looks like the Miami Dolphins won’t be among his options.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ legendary quarterback is set to be a free agent in March, and if he decides to play a 24th NFL season, the Miami Dolphins are not expected to pursue him, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Miami is fully committed to Tua Tagovailoa as their starting quarterback, and were pleased by his development with new head coach Mike McDaniel this season, per Schefter.
The Dolphins tried to lure Brady last offseason, but got a head start while he was still in-season with the Bucs, and paid a high price for tampering. The NFL leveled hefty fines, and took away multiple draft picks from Miami, including their first-round selection in the 2023 NFL draft.
Brady has given no timetable for his decision on whether or retire or return for another year, but a fourth season with the Bucs still appears to be on the table, should he come back.
