While the Dolphins haven’t had a lot of good news in recent days, it does seem they’re starting to get healthy at the center spot, as Michael Deiter has already returned and Greg Mancz is just about ready to come back.
With this, Miami doesn’t have a ton of need for another center on the active roster, so the Dolphins are releasing Austin Reiter, according to Aaron Wilson. Ari Meirov of PFF was the first to report it.
Reiter originally signed with the Dolphins back in October after Deiter went down with his injury. He was supposed to back up Mancz, but then Mancz went down, and Reiter was thrust into the starting role.
With everyone getting back and healthy, the Dolphins will give Reiter a chance to sign with another team, and if he isn’t grabbed right away, he could find his way back on their practice squad.
