The Houston Texans still have tension and drama to work through as the offseason is officially underway with Super Bowl LV concluded.
According to a report from the NFL Network, three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson still hasn’t spoken with the new general manager, Nick Caserio, nor the new coach, David Culley.
Disconnection in communication is a horrible sign for any relationship, and it is a hurdle the Texans will have to negotiate as they get ready for the offseason, attempting to recover from their disastrous 4-12 record that cost coach and general manager Bill O’Brien his job.
The Texans can’t simply trade Watson as he has a no-trade clause in his contract and can dictate where he wants to go. Conversely, Watson is under contract through the 2025 season, and he would be massively penalized for skipping mandatory attendance events, such as minicamp, training camp, and games.
Communication is the only way out of the jam the Texans and Watson find themselves in, but not a syllable has been returned.
