Communication is the foundation for any relationship. It is fair to say that without communication, there can’t be a relationship.
That is the situation the Houston Texans find themselves in as franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson reportedly has not spoken with new general manager Nick Caserio.
On Thursday, Watson’s intentions to leave the Texans and seek a trade became public.
Caserio publicly has state he wants to work with Watson.
“I think the most important thing for us is just to speak specifically to Deshaun,” Caserio told reporters on Jan. 8. “I’d say from afar the respect and administration that I have for him as a player and what he’s done for this organization is significant. He’s our quarterback. Quite frankly he’s a big part of the reason why over the last two seasons when we faced the Texans that New England came out on the losing side of the ledger. I think it’s important for all of us to take some time, and I think when the time is appropriate, we’ll have discussions with the players.
With Watson not taking any time to talk to Caserio, it does not bode well for the three-time Pro Bowler’s future with the team, and for the Texans, the future at quarterback is starting to look bleak.
