Since Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry suffered an injury to his foot that will keep him out an extended period of time, we’ve heard differing reports about his chances of returning in 2021.
While it was originally reported that Henry was in danger of missing the rest of the season, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the star rusher could be back after six to 10 weeks, even going as far as to say the team expects him back this season.
However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter is now being told that it “would be very surprising” if Henry is able to return in 2021, but notes that the Titans are holding out hope that will not be the case.
Titans still are keeping hope alive that Derrick Henry, the NFL's leading rusher, will be able to return at some point this season after undergoing foot surgery last week. But as one source said this weekend, it "would be very surprising if he made it back this season." https://t.co/BwA19ARrBo

To try and fill Henry’s unfillable shoes, the Titans brought in veteran and future Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson, who turned down a chance to be on “Dancing with the Stars” in the hopes he could land on a team in 2021.
