Report: DeAndre Jordan had stitches removed from finger on Thursday

The Brooklyn Nets could’ve used DeAndre Jordan against the Los Angeles Lakers. But, at least the big man took a step toward his return.

Jarrett Allen was the lone big man the Brooklyn Nets had at their disposal on Thursday with Dwight Howard and Anthony Davis (no JaVale McGee) representing the Los Angeles Lakers frontcourt, alongside LeBron James. In the end, the Nets couldn’t overtake the Lakers, losing 128-113 — marking Brooklyn’s fifth loss in a row.

In his 30 minutes of work, Allen had to rely on Taurean Prince, Wilson Chandler and Rodions Kurucs for help with Los Angeles’ frontcourt. The reason being both DeAndre Jordan (right middle finger dislocation) and Nic Claxton (left shoulder contusion) were both sidelined.

But the Nets could have one of their other big men back soon.

Following Thursday’s loss, Jordan told Brian Lewis of the New York Post he had stitches removed from his finger on Thursday. Though Jordan still needs to be evaluated further,
