The Colorado Buffaloes men’s basketball team has become a talking point with Cody Williams coming to the program in the fall. The Buffs have even received an invite to the prestigious Maui Invitational in 2024.
Now, the Buffs are reportedly set to compete in the 2023 Sunshine Slam in Daytona Beach, per Rocco Miller of The Bracketeer.
Colorado, Florida State, UNLV, and Richmond will headline the 2023 Sunshine Slam in Daytona Beach, multiple sources told Bracketeer.Org. These four programs will comprise the Beach Bracket.
That is a jam-packed field and Miller added that Siena and Stetson will be part of the Ocean bracket, with the other two teams yet to be announced.
The 2022 Sunshine Slam consisted of Georgia, South Florida, Saint Joseph’s, UAB, Bucknell, Austin Peay, UAlbany and Presbyterian, so the 2023 field is already looking better.
The Buffs are expected to be a dangerous team in 2023-2024 and have even been pegged as an early top-25 team despite missing the NCAA Tournament this season.
Yet, the addition of Williams and a ton of returning starters has the Buffs as a potential threat in the Pac-12, and the Sunshine Slam will be a big tournament for them to size up against some talented teams.
