The funny money season is underway whether it is for quarterbacks in the broadcast booth or those who have options while still playing.
Dak Prescott of the Cowboys falls into the latter category. And it appears as if the Dallas QB could be heading toward a mega-deal. The Dallas Morning News is reporting the Cowboys have offered Prescott a long-term deal with an average salary of $33 million with a guaranteed contract of $105 million.

Owner Jerry Jones said Prescott isn’t going anywhere based on the mechanisms at the team’s disposal. Cooper, meanwhile, could hit the open market if there’s a new CBA and the Cowboys place a tag on Prescott. Of course, if the Cowboys can secure a long-term contract with Prescott or Cooper before the March 12 deadline, it would answer numerous questions.
“It’s what it is,” Jones said. “We just have to figure out a way to do it. That was one of the reasons I’ve said was why I could have conceived not doing it.
