Report: Colts expected to re-sign OL Matt Pryor

The Colts are expected to re-sign OL Matt Pryor to a short-term deal.

The Indianapolis Colts are expected to re-sign pending free agent offensive lineman Matt Pryor, first reported Tuesday by Ian Rapoport.

Just before the start of the 2021 regular season, the Colts sent over a 2022 sixth-round pick to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for Pryor and 2022 a seventh-round pick.

While the details haven’t been officially confirmed, the versatile offensive lineman appears to be returning for at least another season.

This move was to be expected. After starting right guard Mark Glowinski agreed to a three-year deal with the New York Giants, the Colts had to make a move to salvage some of their offensive line depth.

Pryor made five starts for the Colts during the 2021 season all over the offensive line. He even got some run at left tackle, which is where he might get a chance to compete for the starting role if the Colts decide to go the cheaper route.

With Pryor coming back, the Colts could still re-sign Chris Reed to give them some superior depth on the offensive line but we know at least one of them will be back in 2022.
