The Indianapolis Colts know who their starter under center is for the 2020 season, but they will be looking at the 2020 NFL draft to potentially find a quarterback to mold. It seems a player they have a keen eye for is FIU’s James Morgan.
It has been reported this offseason that the Colts have had an interest in the big-armed quarterback. Likely a Day 3 pick, Morgan has been getting some interest from plenty of teams.
The Colts reportedly are one of those teams closely vetting the prospect ahead of the draft, per Aaron Wilson of The Houston Chronicle.

Morgan fits the bill of what the Colts like in their quarterbacks. He’s smart, a strong leader and one who would fit in well under Frank Reich. He has a big arm and likes to look downfield for the big play.
Morgan’s size allows him to stand in the pocket and throw through contact, but there are a lot of concerns about his game that make him a Day 3 prospect. What might turn the Colts off the most is his footwork, but that is a trait that can be taught.
It will be interesting to see when the Colts look to take a quarterback in the draft, but Morgan should be a player to keep an eye on.
