Report: Chiefs eyeing new contract for OC Eric Bieniemy

The rest of the NFL might be hesitant to hire Eric Bieniemy, but the Chiefs won’t bat an eye when it comes to signing him to a new deal.
Bieniemy’s current contract is set to expire following the conclusion of the 2020 NFL season, making him a free agent and able to sign elsewhere.
But according to a new report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Chiefs intend to work out a new deal with Bieniemy.
Schefter says that the only reason that Kansas City hadn’t already worked out an extension for Bieniemy is that they expected him to receive a head-coaching job during this hiring cycle.
With Bieniemy not receiving a job offer and Super Bowl preparation underway there wasn’t time to get a deal done.
Both Bieniemy and the Chiefs have a mutual interest in getting a deal done according to Schefter
