Report: Chase Young didn’t aggravate knee injury, still on track with recovery

Chase Young’s recovery is still on track, and there were no setbacks.

Washington Commanders’ fans were upset late Tuesday evening when an unverified report indicated star defensive end Chase Young had reaggravated his surgically repaired knee.

However, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington quickly debunked the report. The initial rumor stated Young “went to Von Miller’s passing rushing camp and reaggravated his injury.”

On Wednesday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post added further clarification on Young’s status. Jhabvala said Young wasn’t invited to Miller’s pass-rushing summit due to his recovery from knee surgery and that Washington defensive tackle Daron Payne was the only player on the roster who attended.

As for the pictures and videos of Miller and Young together, it was because they sometimes use the same trainer, who is based out of Colorado Springs. Young spent the majority of the offseason in Colorado as he recovered from knee surgery.

Washington placed Young on the reserve/physically unable to perform list last month. He will miss at least the first four games of the 2022 NFL season but is eligible to return in Week 5. Young tore the ACL in right knee last November and reportedly suffered damage to his patella.

The Commanders have maintained Young is on track in his recovery and has worked with the team throughout his rehabilitation process.
