The NFL trade deadline is fast approaching, and Monday has already seen one defensive player change homes, as the San Francisco 49ers traded linebacker Kwon Alexander to the New Orleans Saints. Our second player to find a new team is defensive back Desmond King, who was traded to the Tennessee Titans.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter was first with the report:
And another trade: Chargers dealing DB Desmond King to the Titans, per source.

King has been used in a few different roles in the Chargers defense, both as a slot cornerback and a safety. He did not play this past week against the Denver Broncos, and the Chargers probably could have used him to stave off the furious comeback from Drew Lock and company. King has not recorded an interception this season, but with the Titans struggling defensively, his help is badly needed on that side of the football.
According to a report from Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Titans sent a sixth-round pick in the 2021 draft in exchange for the defensive back.
