Report: Cardinals agree to sign former Falcons LB De’Vondre Campbell to 1-year deal

He had 129 tackles and two interceptions in 2019 for Atlanta.

The Arizona Cardinals have made another move in free agency to fill a big need. The latest should presumably take care of their hole at inside linebacker next to Jordan Hicks.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cardinals have agreed to a one-year contract with former Atlanta Falcons linebacker De’Vondre Campbell.

The deal is reportedly for $8.5 million.

Campbell played the last four seasons for Atlanta and had his best season in 2019. He had 129 total tackles, two sacks, three forced fumbles and two interceptions.

He is 6-4 and 232 pounds.

He had played in all 16 games of every season he has been in the league. He had over 90 tackles in 2017 and 2018 as well.

He projects as the Cardinals second starting inside linebacker.

Arizona has now filled their defensive holes, adding Jordan Phillips on the defensive line, Devon Kennard at outside linebacker and Campbell at inside linebacker.
