Report Card: Grading the Iowa Hawkeyes’ pivotal, late-season win over Minnesota

Pull up a chair. Class is in session. How do the Hawkeyes grade out on the report card after toppling Minnesota, 13-10?

It was a classic Iowa win, the offense doing just enough to not mess up a masterclass by the fantastic defense and special teams. It might seem silly, but we’ll take it!

Despite the cold, Iowa really had to sweat this game out, winning on a late game Drew Sanders field goal. It wasn’t pretty, but Iowa has now won eight straight against the Gophers. More importantly, they control their own path back to the Big Ten Championship. Beat Nebraska next week, and they punch their ticket. It’s as simple as that. Win or go home.

You take wins however they come, especially on the road in the wintery conditions of Minnesota. With a pig on the line, as well as their season, Iowa played their style of football to a 13-10 win. Here are some grades from a very Hawkeye victory.
