Report Card: Grading LSU’s win against South Carolina

Now, the grades are in with the postgame report card, and some Tigers are getting high marks for their contributions.

Trey Palmer provided one of the biggest highlights with a 95-yard kickoff return for a score in the third quarter. It was the first kickoff return for a touchdown by LSU in Tiger Stadium since 1981.

LSU’s offense made for an easy night for the punt team. The Tigers never had a drive end in a punt. Kicker Cade York got in some work and converted on all seven of his PAT attempts, as well as successfully kicking his lone field goal attempt, a 27-yard try.

The punt return team never had a chance to do some damage either. South Carolina pointed once with no return on the ball by the Tigers.

LSU will take on Auburn next Saturday as the Bayou Tigers look for back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
