With the trade deadline just 10 days away, the Chicago Bulls must decide on their future fast.
One decision that seems to already be made is the future of Coby White with the Bulls.
Chicago declined White’s fifth-year option, setting him up to hit unrestricted free agency come this summer.
Reported by Matt Moore of The Action Network, the Bulls discussed a swap of White with the Suns for disgruntled forward Jae Crowder.
The Bulls and Suns have had conversations about a deal involving Coby White for Crowder in recent weeks, but no real traction is thought to be present.
Acquiring Crowder would speak to Chicago’s reluctance to act as sellers at the deadline, despite sitting as the No. 10 seed in the Eastern Conference.
Though it feels like White may not return this offseason if not traded, the Bulls won’t deal him away for nothing as he’s proven to be valuable to their rotation this season off the bench.
Now, is White enough for the Suns to part with Crowder? Likely not, but White would be an upgrade for Phoenix’s backcourt depth as they attempt to make another deep playoff run.
