Adding to the defensive corps, the Cleveland Browns will sign free agent safety Karl Joseph. According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, the Browns have reached an agreement with the former Raiders safety.
Joseph has spent his entire four-year career with the Raiders, who made him a first-round pick out of West Virginia in 2016. He played just nine games in 2019 after he suffered a foot injury that cut short what was his most consistently productive season.
He has experience playing both the strong and free safety positions. Joseph’s ability to drop into the box and play as a de facto LB is appealing for the Browns, who just lost Morgan Burnett, Juston Burris and Damarious Randall from last year’s secondary.
Terms of the reported deal are not yet available.
