The Cleveland Browns will interview New England Patriots college scouting director Monti Ossenfort for their general manager position on Friday, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Cleveland found its head coach in Kevin Stefanski, and now is on the hunt for a general manager. The Browns hired Stefanski over Josh McDaniels for the head-coaching position, but they are coming back to Gillette to fill a role in the front office.
Ossenfort has been with New England for 15 years in various roles, starting off as a personnel assistant. He’s been in his current role since 2014 and has reported to the Patriots’ director of player personnel, Nick Caserio.
The #Browns will interview #Patriots college scouting director Monti Ossenfort for their GM job tomorrow, sources say. It’s his first GM interview, because he was blocked for the #Texans GM job two years ago. A respected scout.
