Report: Browns ‘hopeful’ Nick Chubb will return in Week 10

Chubb has been on I.R. since getting hurt in Week 4

Sunday morning’s news cycle provided quite the swing on the emotional pendulum for the Cleveland Browns. The upswing is a potentially great one: Nick Chubb is poised to return in Week 10, according to a report from NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

The Pro Bowl running back has missed the last four games with a knee injury. Chubb has rested and rehabilitated his sprained MCL enough that the team is hopeful he will return to practice after the bye week. If all goes well in practices, Chubb should be back out on the field when the Browns host the Texans in Week 10.

Chubb posted 335 yards on 57 carries, a 5.9 yards per carry average. He was third in the NFL in rushing when he went down.

Rapoport’s report comes on the heels of the Browns officially placing starting QB Baker Mayfield on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Mayfield came into close contact with a Browns staffer who tested positive, but the QB did not test positive himself.
