The Brooklyn Nets have been linked to Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard ever since he showed up in person to watch Game 3 of Brooklyn’s first-round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, it looks like the Nets are unlikely to be able to land Lillard in a trade, but they could still be part of it.

According to Ian Begley of SNY, Brooklyn is among the teams that have been contacted to be the potential third team in receive Miami Heat guard Tyler Herro in a Lillard to Miami trade. Begley mentions that the Trail Blazers are looking for a team to re-route Herro to.

While Lillard previously listed the Nets as one of his preferred trade destinations along with the Heat, it was reported earlier on Saturday that Lillard wants to play for Miami more than any other team. Portland reportedly wants picks and young players and Brooklyn could offer both, but it seems that Lillard’s mind is made up to be traded to the Heat.
