Report: Broncos hope Phillip Lindsay’s turf toe injury is mild

Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay injured his toe against the Titans on “Monday Night Football.”

Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay injured his toe during Monday’s 16-14 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Lindsay suffered a turf toe injury that the team hopes is “mild,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Depending on the severity of the injury, Lindsay could be sidelined anywhere from a few days to a few weeks.

Before exiting Monday’s game in the first half, Lindsay rushed seven times for 24 yards and caught one pass for 11 yards. If Lindsay has to miss any games, Melvin Gordon will see his workload increase.

“I talked to Phil, I think he’s going to be good, taking it day-to-day,” Gordon said after Monday’s loss. “I think he’ll be out there sooner than later. He’s a competitor so he’s going to do whatever it takes to kind of get back out there and help this team out. We’ll be good, but we are definitely going to be in good hands while he’s gone.”

Gordon rushed 15 times for 78 yards and a touchdown against Tennessee.
