The NBA has been working on returning to play after suspending operations on March 11 due to the global coronavirus pandemic as everybody continues to work their way through these tough times and return to playing safely.
There appears to be the makings of a concrete plan in the league as commissioner Adam Silver set a target date of July 31 and now, it looks like they will vote on a formal plan on Thursday.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the league is narrowing it down to 22 teams and that a possible Game 7 of the NBA Finals would be set for October 12. This would push back the start of the 2020-21 season much later than Christmas as the new season could possibly start in January or so.
The NBA's Board of Governors has a Thursday meeting set for a vote on a finalized plan to restart the season, per sources. The league is still working through those details with the NBPA. https://t.co/bwZ74S3ldR

There is still a lot to work out, but if the league has a formal plan in place, then they can officially begin preparation on a “bubble site” for the games. This will most likely take place at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney World in Orlando. [lawrence-related id=32495,32486,32479]
